On the evening of November 30, 2015, a heated argument on a Philadelphia street escalated into fatal violence, claiming the life of 25-year-old Malcolm Claibourne. The Black male was with a 22-year-old friend on the 2900 block of Frankford Avenue in the Kensington neighborhood when the dispute broke out with another individual at approximately 8:20 p.m.
In the midst of the confrontation, the person they were arguing with suddenly produced a gun and began shooting.
Claibourne was struck by multiple gunshots, including wounds to his neck and back. Philadelphia Police officers who responded to the scene found him suffering from his injuries. His friend was also shot in the chest. Both men were rushed to Temple University Hospital for emergency medical care.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Malcolm Claibourne was pronounced dead at the hospital that evening. His 22-year-old companion was listed in critical condition. The shooting case remains unsolved, and as of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department has continued to appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the person responsible for Claibourne's death.
