On June 7, 2016, Keith Coleman, a 31-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This incident occurred in the Perry South neighborhood, contributing to a series of violent events in the area during that period. The North Side, which includes Perry South, experienced 17 fatal shootings that year, leading the city in gun-related deaths. Overall, Pittsburgh recorded 50 gun-related fatalities and investigated 193 shootings resulting in injuries in 2016.
