Caldwell was known to some as 'Spark,' a nickname that reflected his quick wit and ability to pick up on conversations.
A mentor from a local program described him as respectful and very intelligent, with a smile that could illuminate an entire room. His death left his family and community grappling with a sudden and violent loss.
Despite an extensive investigation by Pittsburgh police into the homicide, no suspects have ever been publicly identified in the shooting death of Taeshaun Caldwell. No arrests have been made, and the case has grown cold over the years.
