In the small town of Republic, Pennsylvania, a young man's life was tragically cut short in November 2016. Sixteen-year-old Parker Hess, a sophomore at Brownsville Area High School and a dedicated junior firefighter, was fatally shot inside the Republic Volunteer Fire Company station. The incident occurred while members were preparing for the town's annual 'Light Up the Night' holiday parade, an event that was abruptly canceled in the wake of the tragedy.
