On March 21, 2023, at approximately 2:35 a.m., Hermitage police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence in the 2000 block of Shadyside Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Charles "Chuck" Carr with multiple gunshot wounds near the home's porch. Emergency medical personnel transported Carr to Sharon Regional Health System, where he was pronounced dead. The Mercer County Coroner later determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the chest, ruling it a homicide.
