In the winter of 2017, the life of 22-year-old Ryan M. Small of York, Pennsylvania, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Sunday, January 15th, emergency services responded to what appeared to be a two-vehicle crash on the 400 block of West Princess Street. However, upon their arrival, first responders discovered that Ryan Small, the driver of one of the vehicles, was suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso. He was rushed to York Hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The incident, initially perceived as a traffic accident, was quickly reclassified as a homicide investigation.
The news of Small's death sent ripples of grief through his community. Friends and family remembered him as a young father with two small children and another on the way.
