In the cool evening of November 10, 2017, a burst of violence shattered the night in York, Pennsylvania, leaving a young man dead and a community searching for answers. Jimmy Avila-Velez, a 26-year-old male, was walking in the 500 block of West Newton Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. when he was fatally shot. The York County Coroner's Office later confirmed that Avila-Velez died at the scene from gunshot wounds to his neck and torso, ruling his death a homicide. Authorities believed from the outse ...
