On a Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C., the life of 75-year-old Miguel Romero was tragically cut short. On March 1, 2020, at approximately 2:02 p.m., the sounds of gunshots echoed in the 4900 block of Nash Street, Northeast, prompting a swift response from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department.
Upon their arrival at the residential building, officers discovered a grim scene.
Inside one of the residences, they found Miguel Romero, a male resident of Northeast, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate attention of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, there were no signs of life. Mr. Romero was pronounced dead at the scene, his life taken in an act of violence that detectives from the Homicide Branch would soon begin to unravel.
