On a spring afternoon in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the peace, leaving a community shaken and a family grieving. Inside an apartment on the 3400 block of 13th Place, Southeast, police discovered a chaotic scene. 30-year-old James Robinson, a male resident of Southeast, D.C., was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate response and life-saving efforts of emergency medical personnel, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The violence of that day, May 26, 2025, was not confined to that single apartment. Two other adult males were also found with gunshot wounds in connection with the incident. One was discovered in the same apartment as Robinson, while the third was located a short distance away in the 1300 block of Savannah Street, Southeast. Both of these men were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
In the aftermath of the triple shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide of James Robinson. As of now, the case remains open, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward, offering a substantial reward for any tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this violent act that cut a young man's life short.
