Keynen M. Guider Jr., a 26-year-old male of African American ethnicity from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, tragically passed away on December 31, 2017. He was found shot and unresponsive in his vehicle in the 1900 block of Brookwood Street in Harrisburg. Guider was transported to Harrisburg Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into Guider's death led to the arrest of Calvin McKinney, a 31-year-old man from Harrisburg.
McKinney was charged with Guider's murder and attempted murder. According to the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, McKinney allegedly shot Guider on December 29, 2017, and then again two days later, resulting in Guider's death. McKinney was found guilty of attempted murder in August 2019, but the jury was hung on the murder charge, resulting in a mistrial. McKinney was sentenced to 10-20 years in state prison for the attempted murder. He is scheduled to be retried for the murder charge in December.
During McKinney's trial, it was alleged that he lied under oath, leading to additional charges of perjury. The retrial for the murder charge is pending, and McKinney remains in custody.
