On the evening of February 19, 2019, the life of 20-year-old Malik Felipa was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. A Hispanic male, Felipa was on the 700 block of East Clearfield Street in Philadelphia when the sound of gunshots rang out at approximately 6:49 p.m.
Philadelphia Police officers in the vicinity heard the shots and quickly responded to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Felipa lying on the sidewalk, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate medical attention he received, his injuries proved to be fatal.
Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect fleeing the area, heading westbound on Clearfield Street. However, the identity of the shooter remains unknown. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to investigate the homicide, and the case is listed among the city's unsolved murders. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to contact the authorities. Felipa resided on the 600 block of East Ontario Street at the time of his death.
