On April 28, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred in Philadelphia's Lawncrest neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of three teenagers, including 18-year-old Khalif Frezghi. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m. on the 5900 block of Palmetto Street. Police responding to reports of gunfire discovered Frezghi on the front porch, 17-year-old Malik Ballard on the sidewalk, and 14-year-old Salah Fleming just inside the doorway of a residence; all three were pronounced dead at the scene.
