On August 11, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m., a tragic shooting occurred at the 8th and Diamond Playground in North Philadelphia, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Naasir Folk. Folk was among a group gathered on the basketball courts when five male suspects approached and opened fire, discharging over 50 rounds from multiple firearms. Folk sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
