In the spring of 2019, the life of a young Philadelphia man was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire that also left a woman grievously wounded. The evening of Thursday, May 23, 2019, was shattered by violence on the 1600 block of Diamond Street. It was there that Christopher A. Gardner, a 24-year-old Black male, was shot multiple times.
