In the late morning of a Monday in October 2019, the sounds of gunfire shattered the autumn calm on the 500 block of Somerset Street in Philadelphia. When the echoes faded, 21-year-old Naire Hill, a Black male, was left lying on the pavement, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident, which also wounded a second individual, unfolded at approximately 10:36 a.m. on October 14th.
