On March 13, 2020, Philadelphia Police Sergeant James "Jimmy" O'Connor, aged 46, was tragically killed while serving a warrant in the Frankford neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. Sergeant O'Connor, a dedicated officer with a long history of service, was fatally shot by Hassan Elliott and Khalif Sears, both members of a violent drug trafficking group known as "1700 Scattergood". The incident occurred as SWAT officers ascended the staircase to the second floor of a residence on Bridge Street.
