Keith D. Byrd, a 34-year-old Black male, tragically died on July 5, 2020, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was found shot in the 100 block of Shetland Street in the Larimer neighborhood around 4 a.m. Byrd was later pronounced dead at a local hospital at 5:58 a.m. The incident was part of a concerning uptick in violent crime in Pittsburgh during the summer of 2020, which saw a rise in homicides compared to the previous year.
