On February 3, 2016, Reginald Franklin, a 27-year-old from Homewood, Pittsburgh, was fatally shot while exiting a store in the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue. He was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. At the time of the incident, no arrests had been made, and the investigation remained ongoing.
