Milan Loncar, a 25-year-old man of Serbian ethnicity, was tragically killed on January 13, 2021, while walking his dog in the Brewerytown neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. Loncar, a recent graduate of Temple University, was approached by two men who attempted to rob him. During the robbery, one of the assailants shot Loncar in the chest, and he later died at Temple University Hospital.
The investigation led to the arrest of Josephus Davis, a 21-year-old resident of Philadelphia, who was
found guilty of second-degree murder and robbery in connection with Loncar's death. Davis was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Surveillance video and body-worn camera footage played a crucial role in linking Davis to the crime. Davis was arrested about 90 minutes after the shooting while driving a stolen vehicle. His accomplice in the shooting has not been identified.
