A Black/African American male, Cade was found in the street on Tioga Street with multiple gunshot wounds. The incident unfolded at approximately 11:55 p.m. on August 29, 2021, when a ShotSpotter alert registered 13 rounds fired in the area, prompting a police response.
First responders arrived to a grim scene, discovering the young man in critical condition. He was immediately rushed to UPMC Presbyterian hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Robert Cade succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on August 30, 2021.
