Gary R. Hunt, a 64-year-old retired police officer from Corry, Pennsylvania, tragically died on November 20, 2021, in a hunting-related accident in Columbus Township, Warren County. Hunt was hunting for black bear with his nephew, Bradley Cascavilla, when the accident occurred. While crossing a creek, Cascavilla tripped or slipped, causing his firearm to discharge and strike Hunt in the abdomen. Despite immediate efforts to save him, Hunt was pronounced dead at the scene.
