In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Philadelphia, on November 30, 2021, the life of 36-year-old Darnell Corbitt, a Black male, was tragically cut short by gun violence. Corbitt was inside a silver Chrysler 300 on the 2100 block of North Lambert Street when he was shot. Despite his injuries, he managed to flee from the vehicle and sought refuge in a nearby property on the same block.
Philadelphia Police officers were dispatched to the scene at 11:41 p.m.
Upon their arrival, they found the wounded Corbitt. Emergency medical services transported him to Temple University Hospital. However, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased in the early moments of the following day, at 12:17 a.m. on December 1, 2021.
