On a Tuesday evening in Philadelphia, the life of 32-year-old John ‘Shark’ Barbour, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short. On December 7, 2021, at approximately 6:54 p.m., Barbour was shot and killed on the 1800 block of East Lippincott Street.
The Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Unit launched an investigation into the shooting.
In an effort to identify the individual responsible, authorities released excerpts from surveillance footage that captured the suspect. The police described the person of interest as a Black or Hispanic male, believed to be around 35 years of age, with a medium build and standing between 5'8" and 6'0" tall.
To encourage public assistance in solving the case, a $20,000 reward has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for John Barbour's death. The investigation into his murder remains ongoing. There have been no reports of any arrests or charges filed in the case.
