In the spring of 2022, the life of 60-year-old Edward Elliot West was tragically cut short in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. On the night of April 3rd, West, a Black male, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso in the parking lot of the 3 Reds Tavern.
The investigation into West's death quickly led police to a suspect. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a woman following West from the Elks Lodge to the tavern's parking lot, where the fatal shooting occurred. This woman was identified as 41-year-old Arlaya Morris.
Morris was apprehended shortly after the incident and faced legal proceedings for her role in West's death. She ultimately pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree murder. Following her plea, Morris was sentenced to serve between 10 to 30 years in a state prison. The Cambria County District Attorney's office, along with the Johnstown Police Department, conducted a thorough investigation that led to this resolution.
