On April 16, 2022, Donald Hammond, a 31-year-old man from Pittsburgh, PA, tragically died from a gunshot wound in the Woods Run neighborhood. Hammond was found in the backseat of a sport utility vehicle that sped off from the scene of the shooting and led police on a chase to Allegheny General Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, Hammond succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
