In the late hours of a Wednesday in Pittsburgh, the Bedford Dwellings neighborhood was disturbed by the sound of multiple gunshots. When police arrived at the 2500 block of Bedford Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. on May 9, 2018, they discovered a man lying lifeless on the sidewalk. The victim was identified as 26-year-old Lawrence Brown, a Black male from Pittsburgh. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
