In the late evening of a Tuesday in Pittsburgh's East Hills neighborhood, the life of 25-year-old Hezon Level Wilson, a male resident of the area, was tragically cut short. On August 26, 2025, police responded to a seven-round ShotSpotter alert in the 2300 block of East Hills Drive around 9:30 p.m. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered Wilson unresponsive, having sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite the immediate life-saving efforts of the first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting led by the Pittsburgh Police, with assistance from U.S. Marshals, New Kensington Police, and the Westmoreland County SWAT team, culminated in the arrest of a suspect two months later. On October 30, 2025, 36-year-old Terrance George of Pittsburgh was taken into custody in New Kensington's Parnassus neighborhood. He was subsequently charged with criminal homicide, illegal possession of a firearm, and carrying a firearm without a license. George is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
According to the criminal complaint, a significant piece of evidence linking George to the crime was video footage from the scene of the shooting. The footage allegedly shows George wearing the same clothing he had on earlier that day when police had served him with a protection-from-abuse order at the same East Hills Drive address. At the scene of the crime, investigators recovered seven shell casings, corroborating the initial ShotSpotter alert. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.
