Robert Hoard, a 21-year-old male from Dayton, OH, tragically died on July 15, 1975. He was shot twice in the back while taking out the trash at his home on Cincinnati Street. The incident was part of a series of racially motivated killings carried out by Neal Bradley Long, also known as the "Midnight Slayer". Long was arrested shortly after Hoard's death and was later linked to multiple other murders in the Dayton area.
