Melvin Jennings was 26 when he was shot around 6 p.m. on May 20, 2017, in the 5800 block of Woodhall Street on Detroit’s east side, near Chandler Park Drive and Cadieux Road. He was outside his mother’s home when gunfire broke out in what police treated as a double shooting, and he later died at the hospital.
