MarShawn M. McCarrel II, a 23-year-old Black man from Columbus, OH, tragically died on February 8, 2016. He was a community organizer and activist involved in the Black Lives Matter movement. McCarrel was the founder of Pursuing Our Dreams, an organization dedicated to helping the homeless in Columbus.
