Jayvon Gore, 28, a Black male, was found mortally wounded just after 1 a.m. on June 18, 2025, in the parking lot of an after-hours establishment along the 1400 block of Oakland Park Avenue in Columbus’ North Linden area. Medics rushed him to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead minutes later. As officers converged on the scene, many witnesses scattered, and stray rounds struck the nearby Columbus Fire Station 16; no firefighters were injured.
