On April 25, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Columbus police responded to reports of a shooting and vehicle crash in the 700 block of Northview Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Brian Borghetti inside a crashed vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Borghetti succumbed to his injuries on April 28, 2023.
The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear, and as of now, no suspects have been identified. The Columbus Division of Police continues to investigate the incident.
