On January 7, 2019, 39-year-old Andrew Lamar Franks, a Black male, was found unresponsive in his home on Kimberly Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. When Columbus Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Franks lying on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Franks was pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m. by Columbus Fire medics. The incident was classified as a homicide, and no suspects or motives were identified at the time.
