Casey Christopher Tank Goodson, a 23-year-old Black man from Columbus, Ohio, tragically died on December 4, 2020. Goodson was fatally shot by former Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Meade as he was entering his grandmother's home. Meade claimed that Goodson pointed a gun at him twice, prompting him to shoot in self-defense. However, Goodson's family and prosecutors argued that he was holding a sandwich bag and his keys, not a gun, when he was shot.
