On December 1, 2019, 17-year-old Brandon Bruce, a male of African American ethnicity, was fatally shot in the face in the 100 block of Furnace Street in Elyria, Ohio. Brandon was visiting a home with friends when the incident occurred. Elyria police responded to the scene around 8:40 a.m. and found Brandon in an unattached garage. Despite attempts to save his life, medical personnel declared him deceased at the scene.
