Sergeant Lloyd Edward Lowry, aged 47, was a dedicated officer with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, having served for 22 years. On September 23, 1997, he was tragically killed in the line of duty during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Fayetteville, NC.
