Domingo Cook, a 49-year-old man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on March 27, 2020. The incident occurred at the Day and Nite Food Mart on Murchison Road around 12:15 a.m. Cook was shot and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The Fayetteville Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, which led to the identification of Andre Roye, a 26-year-old man, as a suspect.
Roye was charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with Cook's death. The investigation revealed that Roye and another individual, Carl Donatello Roye, were present at the scene of the shooting. The police were also searching for a 2006 Hyundai Tuscan believed to be connected to the incident.
In May 2020, Andre Roye turned himself in to the authorities and was issued a $250,000 secured bond. The case drew significant attention from the local community, and the Fayetteville Police Department continued to seek information from the public to aid in their investigation.
