Bishop Tyree Dwayne Rhone, a 27-year-old Black male, tragically passed away on December 11, 2022, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The incident occurred late at night, around 11:27 p.m., when police were called to the 300 block of Independence Place Drive following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found Bishop Rhone and a young child with injuries inside a truck.
Bishop Rhone was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the juvenile was listed in critical condition.
The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. As of now, no suspects have been publicly identified, and the investigation is ongoing. The police have urged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward and contact Detective S. Shirey or Crimestoppers.
