Akir Samad Hooper, a 34-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on May 19, 2017, in Forest City, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. at his residence on Arlington Street. Alongside him, Stephanie Lynn Walker, a 37-year-old Caucasian female, was also shot and later succumbed to her injuries at Rutherford Regional Hospital. The two juveniles living in the home managed to escape unharmed.
