Denzel Jarcus Wright, a 27-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 20, 2020, in Forest City, North Carolina. On that fateful evening, emergency crews responded to a shooting incident at approximately 7:23 p.m. on Greenfield Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered Wright suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. He was immediately transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Forest City Police Department,
in collaboration with crime scene investigators from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, launched a homicide investigation into Wright's death. The authorities processed the crime scene meticulously and scheduled an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
