On April 14, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Forest City Police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Caldwell Street in Forest City, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds: 23-year-old Damien Ray Cole of Spindale, 39-year-old Crisanto Graves, and 38-year-old Tammy Cole, both residents of the Caldwell Street home.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute involving all parties. The altercation reportedly began inside the house and escalated into gunfire outside, in the driveway and front yard area. Both Damien Cole and Crisanto Graves were identified as the shooters, while Tammy Cole was caught in the crossfire while attempting to defuse the situation.
All three individuals were transported to medical facilities for treatment. Tragically, Damien Cole succumbed to his injuries at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. As of the latest reports, both Graves and Tammy Cole were in serious but stable condition.
Forest City Police Chief Chris LeRoy stated that the department is working closely with the district attorney's office to determine the appropriate charges once the investigation is complete. He emphasized that this appears to be an isolated domestic incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
