On May 26, 2023, Rita Kathleen Evans, a 54-year-old woman from Sterling Heights, Michigan, was fatally shot during a confrontation with her half-brother in the parking lot of their family-owned business, Kath Khemicals. The incident occurred as Evans, accompanied by her husband and daughter, approached her half-brother, Zachary Holston III, who was leaving the company premises.
