On the evening of November 14, 2017, Raleigh police responded to a shooting incident in the 200 block of South Tarboro Street. Upon arrival, they discovered James Dermont Rowland, a 48-year-old African American male, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to WakeMed Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the medical team's efforts, Mr. Rowland succumbed to his injuries on November 16, 2017.
