Michael Dickens, a 53-year-old Black male from Raleigh, was shot just before midnight on Monday, October 13, 2025, in the 1800 block of New Bern Avenue near North Raleigh Boulevard. Officers responding around 11:40–11:45 p.m. found him with a gunshot wound; he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
