Jon-Marvin Revels Jacobs, a 17-year-old boy from Shannon, North Carolina, was tragically shot to death on January 19, 2019. The incident occurred in the Shannon area of southeastern Hoke County. According to the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, residents found his body on the 3200 block of Balfour Road around 9:45 a.m. on that fateful Saturday. The young victim had suffered severe trauma to the upper part of his body.
It was reported that Jon-Marvin had left a party and was walking home when gunfire erupted, leading to his untimely death.
Jon-Marvin Revels Jacobs was a good student at Hoke County High School and had aspirations of graduating high school. His best friend remembered him fondly, noting that Jon-Marvin enjoyed playing video games, hunting, and wrestling with his nephews. Unfortunately, his life was cut short while he was on his way home from a party. Gunfire broke out, hitting him and causing severe trauma to his upper body. His body was discovered in a ditch the next morning.
The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office has been actively pursuing leads in the investigation of Jon-Marvin's death. However, as of now, there have been no arrests or suspects identified in connection with the case. The authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation. The community continues to mourn the loss of this young life, and the search for justice remains ongoing.
