Riley Carl Howell, a 21-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on April 30, 2019, during a shooting at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Howell, who was a junior majoring in environmental studies, was attending his liberal studies class when a gunman entered the classroom and opened fire.
