Emmanuel Hagos Gebru, a 31-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed on June 27, 2021, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred shortly after 2:20 a.m. on East Independence Boulevard. Emergency officials responded to the scene and found Emmanuel with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Emmanuel's death marked a significant loss for his community, and the investigation into his murder began immediately.
