On October 7, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon in the 2900 block of Baltimore Avenue in southwest Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Maurice Moore suffering from a gunshot wound. Moore was immediately transported to Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
