Reyno Leocadio Melgar, a 47-year-old Latino man, was fatally injured in a shooting incident at the East Park Apartments on Burner Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina, on March 1, 2020. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the scene and found two men with gunshot wounds. Melgar was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but later succumbed to his wounds. The second man, who was also shot, survived and was expected to recover.
