Maurice Demetrius Simpson, a 40-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 17, 2019, in Greenville, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the 3000-block of Bell’s Fork Road near the intersection of Herman Garris Road. Maurice was found dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call and immediately began their investigation.
